We went and had an ultrasound on Seth's birthday and IT'S A GIRL!!!! We were shocked! I was certain that it was a boy. We are so excited for it to be a girl though! It feels so much more 'real' now that we know we are having a little girl. I think Seth is already in love and ready to spoil her. =) She is looking very healthy and everything seems to be moving along smoothly. What a blessing she will be to our family. Our baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and she measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the length of a small zucchini. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine, and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. This is a crucial time for sensory development: Our baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. She already has an astonishing six million eggs in her ovaries. They'll dwindle to fewer than two million by the time she's born. She is so adorable already and it appears that she will have nice full lips. =)
I know everyone has already been asking about what we are going to name her. We are still praying about it, but we are pretty set on a name. This is a name that both Seth and I liked before we were even married. I remember talking to him in the car one day and we started talking about baby names that we liked, I probably brought up the subject. =) And we both said the SAME girl's name. =) Here it is....
I have attached 2 pictures of our little girl. The top one is of her doing sign language, her first sign was "MOM" =) I couldn't be more proud. The second picture is a profile view! Doesn't she look really cute!?
God it good! Counting down the days until we get to meet our girl!
