Crazy deal @ CVS this week

I went to CVS late last night (11:30PM late), it was actually very peaceful.  No one was there, just me and the stocking employee's.  I found it much easier to think about what I was doing without Norah pulling things off the shelf and throwing them at me screaming and then having to stop what I'm doing a discipline over and over.  So you want to hear my amazing deal?  I spent $4.95 out of pocket and saved $56.90!  I am not going to bog you down with all my purchases, but the best deal was this shampoo.  It is $4.99 and on sale B1G1.  If you got the Sunday paper yesterday there was a coupon for B1G1.  I wasn't sure if it would work, but I took 2 bottles up to the counter and the first B1G1 went through, then I used my coupon at the end and it cancelled out the one I bought!  I got both for free!  The lady couldn't believe it and called her manager over to see if it was okay.  They started speaking in spanish and finally she said - okay.  =)  

There is also one other deal just like this with Trident Care gum.  It is on sale B1G1 @ CVS and there is a B1G1 coupon in yesterday's paper.  They were already sold out of the gum last night.  I'll go back later!

Okay, I'll stop.  It gets me so excited.   5 years ago I wouldn't have guessed I could get so excited about using coupons.  I guess I'm growing up...

School starts back up in 2 weeks!  I cannot believe how quickly the Summer has FLOWN by.  I have so enjoyed my time home with Norah.  It will be sad to go back.

Okay, time to cook dinner....fried calamari & spaghetti and meatballs.  I am excited.  =)

Vacation

We just got home a few days ago from a wonderful, somewhat relaxing vacation with my family.  I have TONS of pictures to post so I will do it in a few parts.  Here is one picture to get you going...this is my favorite out of all of them!!  

Cow Appreciation Day

Our little cow family earned a completely free lunch at Chick-Fil-A today!  We were able to order whatever we wanted FREE!!  We had a good time and made some fun memories.  We're headed back tonight for dinner!  Whoo hoo!!

Update

It has been such a long time since I have updated!  Things are going great around here - very busy.  Norah is such a ham.  She makes us laugh, but at the same time she can make us want to scream.  She is such a little joy to have around the house.  She loves being the center of attention - what 12 month old doesn't?  Her newest thing she is doing is walking around like a little old woman.  She hunches her back and shrugs her shoulders, swinging her arms in front of her.  It is such a riot.  She loves to talk.  My goodness!  If you call me, most likely you will hear a little voice in background talking as much if not more than me.  This one makes me proud...she is signing all the time!  She consistently will sign "more" "please" and "again".  It is adorable.  Her 12 month Dr. appt was last week.  She had a huge growth spurt and is now 29 3/4"!  She grew 1 3/4" in 1 month!  She hasn't gained much weight, still weighs 18.5lbs.  She also got a big girl car seat.  It looks like a space ship.  She is so tiny in it.  She loves to face forward and look outside or watch movies.

Seth and I are doing great.  Quickly learning our new roles as disciplining/training parents.  Norah tests us (mainly me) daily with our consistency in the few areas of discipline we are working on with her.  Those would be...no whining, no throwing food off your plate onto the floor, listening when we say no touch, and finally, no biting, hitting or pulling hair when being disciplined.  Sheesh, she will definitely give us a good show if she doesn't get her way.  Although, I must say her temper tantrums have decreased in the past week.  Maybe my hard work in being consistent is finally paying off?!!?  =)

I just finished painting our bedroom!  No pictures, because I am not sure if I like it yet.  =)  Tomorrow we are going to attempt to dress up like cows and go to Chick-Fil-A for free food!  Seth will be home with us so it should be a fun family outing!  I'll try to get pictures, of Norah at least!  =)

That is enough to make my whole day brighter!  =)  My pantry is slowly filling up with extra stock from all my savings.  Clipping coupons takes time, but I have learned to really enjoy it!  It has been wonderful being able to save so much money - which has served Seth tremendously!  I just wish I started 3 years ago...oh well.

New House

I feel like I am living in a new house!  Seth and I have been talking for a long time about moving our dining room into the guest bedroom/office.  We finally started the huge task over our long weekend.  It turned out better than I thought!  We have so much more living space now with a play room for Norah and a sitting area.  We still need to paint the dining room, not sure what color yet.  Any ideas?  We are thinking something light because of the dark wood floors and furniture.  Let me know what you think!
