Growing Fast!
5:32 PM
Today Seth and I took Norah for her 2 weeks check up with Dr. Chong. I am proud to say that Norah has grown 1.5" since her last visit! She is now 20" long and weighs a whopping 6lbs 11oz!! She is very healthy and pretty active when awake. It is so much fun watching her do new things. I find myself just staring at her. She is gorgeous - such a blessing.

Two weeks old!
7:11 AM
I cannot believe how quickly time is flying! Two weeks have now gone by since the birth of Norah. I am so sorry that I have not been updating this blog - I guess I am a bit pre-occupied. =) I promise later today I will post some new pictures of Norah. She is plumping up and I think looking cuter!

First Doctor's Appointment
7:09 AM

We just got back from our very first Doctor's appointment with Norah. She is doing great! She now weighs 5lbs 9oz and is a whopping 19" already! I cannot believe what a miracle she is. I am still trying to comprehend that this is my daughter that I am holding. It is such an amazing feeling.
Seth is doing great! He loves the mornings snuggling with his little girl. She has been sleeping and eating well - I am sure she is still in her "newborn" stage and things will start to change quickly. But for now, I am enjoying every minute.
I am feeling awesome! I almost feel as if nothing ever happened. Going natural with no pain medication was definitely the way to go!! I would do this again in a heartbeat. Although...I think we will do a birthing center next time. God has been so good.
Time to eat...

Only 8 More Days!
11:12 AM
Today is day number 272 and I am 39 weeks pregnant! We only have 1 week left until we meet Norah - I am 97.5% of the way there! YAY!
Norah will continue to put on an additional half pound this week and probably weighs in at about 6 to 6 1/2 pounds. She is around 21 inches in length and most of the lanugo has fallen off in preparation for birth. The umbilical cord that has carried nutrients from the placenta to her is now 20 inches long and is half an inch thick.
Our appointment today revealed that I am now just about 4cm dilated and still 70% effaced. She is now a lot lower and really getting ready to make her big entrance into this big world. Last week Seth and I decided to see if Norah was ready to come out and meet us. I took about 1oz of castor oil with a coke chaser. This is the picture you are seeing - and yes - this is is before I drank it! =) It didn't really do much but clean me out. So I guess she wasn't ready.
We will continue to keep you posted. Hopefully she will be born before Father's Day! That would be so cool for Seth.
Love you!

Water Broke!
5:15 AM
Ashley's water broke about 30 minutes ago! I will be getting you some pictures of the family in the waiting room shortly. Hopefully, for my sake, she won't have the baby before I can get over to the birthing center. Oh, and the reason I have not left to go over there yet is because from where I am it would take about 1 hour (without traffic!) to get to Ashley! So I am waiting for the morning rush hour to be over. Seth is afraid that I would get about half way - in traffic - and my water would break. Then he would be really far from me and it wouldn't be good. So! I will wait! Until then....

The last update was at 6:45am and she is 4cm dilated and 100% effaced. I will be heading up to the birthing center soon! I can't wait to see little Bristol and I can't believe my brother is about to be a Daddy! I will keep you updated....Pray for Ashley!! =)

15 More Days???
8:34 AM
Today is day number 265 and I am 38 weeks pregnant!
I have 15 days or 2 weeks left, and I am now 95% of the way there!
Norah is all grown up now. She has a firm grasp, which we'll soon be able to test with our finger! Her organs are fully developed and in place, but her lungs and brain — though developed enough for her to function now — will continue to mature right through childhood. She is done baking and the pizza is ready to come out of the oven! =)
The big question today is...will I make it to my due date? I had another appointment today and I am now 2 to 3 cm dilated and 70% effaced! Things continue to move in the right direction. My contractions are getting stronger and longer these days. I am just waiting for them to get closer together. It is a big waiting game. We take nice long walks every night and I am drinking my raspberry leaf tea daily.
We will continue to keep you updated! Check back tomorrow for a blog contest! I am going to see who can guess her due date, time of birth, weight and length...and more. So come back tomorrow to post your answers.
I love you all! I can't wait for you to meet Norah!! It won't be long, I promise. =)
